Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 2nd generation

The Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 is a compact, high-quality 2-in, 2-out USB 2.0 audio interface. It provides singer/songwriters and home recording musicians with two natural-sounding mic preamps; these are the same as those used in the other Scarlett interfaces. Take it on the road and connect to your computer with the provided USB cable, which also delivers the unit's AC power. Just plug in your mic and guitar, and start recording. The Scarlett 2i2 is compatible with any Windows-based DAW that supports ASIO or WDM, and any Mac-based DAW that uses Core Audio.

Head Start on Recording
Each Neutrik Combo input is configured based on the type of cable attached. An XLR cable sets the input to mic level; a ¼-in cable lets you use the LINE/INST switch to choose line or instrument levels. After establishing the input's gain range, keeping an eye on the precise recording level is easy using the gain "halos" around each knob! A green ring lights outside the knob beginning at -24 dBFS (signal present), and surrounds the knob to show the level until it reaches 0 dBFS, when it turns red.

Monitoring
Enable Direct Monitoring to eliminate latency from your recording experience! The mic/line inputs are then routed directly to the outputs so they do not go through the computer, and are synced with the audio delivered from your computer. The Monitor knob controls the signal level to Outputs 1 and 2, while the knob above the headphone jack controls the headphone level.

Mic Preamps
The Scarlett mic preamps are some of the best in the industry, letting you set sample conversion rates up to 192 kHz/24-bit! Phantom power is available for the mic preamps if you use condenser mics. When the preamp is set to Instrument level, it can accommodate even the hottest guitar pickups.
